Last night I was working on my favorite hobby...dead people...again! This time with one of my best friends. Before we knew it we had been on the phone researching his family together for 4 hours until quite late. Actually made an entire family tree in that time with the help of an old ancestral book he has inherited that we could cross reference. It is so addicting! What fun it is when you find that with the help of Ancestry.com and other families that have traced twiggy branches you can go further back than your ancestors even knew! Big whoohoos scream out...at least by me...when an ancient photo is found!

Its definitely a sleep-depriving thing, getting your teeth into the ancestors. I just wish census records were available after 1911 - its the recent lot I'm finding hard to track down! Especially when part of the family were Jones...
Great job...sounds like an interesting hobby.
And Catherine, in this photo, has a look of such strong character.
I am so glad we don't have to wear those work a day clothes these days. Catherine is probably younger than all of us in this picture hahahaha.
That's right, Ms. TrashsparkledUP...your census is the year after ours in the US 1900, yours 1911. But yours goes beyond 1911 doesn't it. Ours goes to 1930.
Very cool!! Someday I want to do this, just to see where our lineage goes :)
I was heavily into dead people several years ago. I spent several years typing names, dates and notes of thousands of ancestors into a genealogy file. Truly a labor of love. I hit several very high brick walls in my research, and shelved it for a while.
Tess, I've hit several brick walls also, but then I get back into it after a breather and suddenly something pops up either on the research or in my head and I am on the trail again. It's beneficial to look for cousins and even neighbors! Strike it up again!
