Been thinkin':
'IT IS WHAT IT IS'~what is it, where is it and what is it that it is?
I have realized that I think from the middle out..ya know~start in the middle and go to the end and then back to the middle and then when all else fails, go to the beginning.
What's more satisfying~the illusion or the reality?
If I never knew you~I would never miss you.
Am I going be bored when I am dead, will I know it and how long is death anyway?
"A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: 'Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time.' When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, "The one I fee the most." George Bernard Shaw. This is a thought I put to use all the time.
Why did I have 'real bad hair' days and young girls and women don't now?
Worry is my symptom of feeling powerless.
I always wonder where all the lost things in life go...to some corner of the world just waiting to be found?
Where do all the words and thoughts we think go when we put them out in the 'Universe'? Do they stay out there forever?
Anyone have any thots they'd like to contribute that they have Thunk?

Windmills of Your Mind
Photo borrowed from Woolfenbell. Thank you, Kers!
Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that you said
Lovers walk along the shore and
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of a song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of a song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Wildlife Nourishment
I'll tell you all another tidbit of LAUNDRY ROOM yuck...I was using a Dial soap bar to scrub stains. The bar kept gettin' smaller and after a few weeks I realized I hadn't been using it THAT much...I found little mouse poos around it..The dang mouse was eating the soap...he loved it...I am such a wildlife preservationist!

Tangled Up In Blue Jeans
I squoze over to Paula's Blog http://paulasserendipity.blogspot.com/and was greeted by the most fresh, bright looking laundry room. My gosh, you could eat off the floor. Perfect for her new baby boy to crawl around in while she washes and irons his little duds.
Made me very jealous though...I have never in all my hundreds of years of lives had a pretty or even decent laundry room. One was in a basement that must have had a hidey hole that let chipmunks in so they could take up residence in the dryer coil, one was in the garage..if you don't think that was pleasant during -30 degrees and then the one I have now..
Mine is in the dredge of a basement that you can only walk a tightrope width of an aisle to the washer and dryer that has stuff stacked in front of it! I have to stand on a box and lean across another box to put the clothes in. Then to transfer the clothes from the washer to the dryer, I must hold the clothes dryer door open with my left knee so that it doesn't slam shut since it doesn't open all the way...why...you ask...because of some more boxes of 1976 clothes catalogs, blue jeans and price sheets from KennyRogersLookAlikeBeforeThePlasticSurgeryWentWrong's first clothes buying position..he is in the clothing business....leisure suits priced wholesale at about $7.00 and Brittania Jeans from $8...from the rag district in New York. Can you say 'disco'~ Important papers that, of course, umhmmm, must be kept for~I don't know the reason~but he does or says he does...he just has to go thru them and toss a few things....WAHT! He's been singing this chant for 16 years now. And while I'm ranting, I might add that I have 'tossed' a few things and even just rearranged the disintegrating emphera maybe a foot from the washer and he has gotten panicked that I may have thrown something away...How can he tell? Oh, please just let him go visit his brother for about 2 weeks so I can have some friends in and help me widen the path to dance to my washer before I fall in among the files and become lodged and tangled up in blue..

Feeling Moody Blues
Breath deep
The gathering gloom
Watch lights fade
From every room
Bedsitter people
Look back and lament
Another day's useless
Energy spent
Impassioned lovers
Wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love
And has none
New mother picks up
And suckles her son
Senior citizens
Wish they were young
Cold hearted orb
That rules the night
Removes the colours
From our sight
Red is gray and
Yellow white
But we decide
Which is right
And
Which is an Illusion

♥Valentine 1911♥2011♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I just remembered that I had a few antique Valentines tucked away in a little drawer of my desk, so I decided to just have a peek. I found one that is most appropriate~it is dated February 12, 1911 and was sent to an aunt and uncle in Broad Ripple, Indiana, where I live, from their niece Altha in Dayton, Ohio. The message is very typically conversational between an aunt and uncle and niece but shows the warmth of thinking of your relatives on such a lovely holiday. Looking in the Census of 1910 I found Aunt Mary and Uncle Parker. They were 65 in 1910, very excited I'm sure to order a new vacuum cleaner.
I don't remember buying it for the reason of it being sent to Broad Ripple, Indiana and I bought it so many years ago that I would never think to get it out of the drawer in 2011..in fact, I think I just picked up a few at a sale that were pretty, paid my money and left. Now years later I see that my subconscious had forethought.
♥Happy Valentine's Day♥

ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!
ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!!
MY FRIEND, NORMA, THE ONE THAT HAS THE POLISHED TABLES THAT I CAN LAY ACROSS WITH NO HINDRANCES, PHONED ME LAST SATURDAY.
"ARE YOU SNOWED IN? SHE INQUIRED. "WHY, YES, I AM." "WELL, I WANT YOU TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT." "OK, AND WHAT WOULD THAT BE?" "I WANT YOU TO WORK YOUR SPELL ON THIS WEATHER." "NOT TO DISAPPOINT YOU, BUT I WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE FULL MOON FOR THE SPELL TO TAKE EFFECT."
THE LINE WENT DEAD.
